Change Of Plans

On Thursday we were meant to be going to have a look around Craft Obsessions but I decided that it would be better to wait until after the new releases had started to arrive in a few weeks. There are no scrapbook shops around here so all my stash shopping is usually done on line. The opportunity of going to see lots of stash up close is one that I want to make the most of!
Have you seen all the CHA sneak peeks? There are some really gorgeous releases, I think my favourite still has to be Prima closely followed by Glitz Designs.
I regularly trawl the Prima blog to see what they have got coming out and have fallen in love with these flocked rub ons, they look fab! Another item to add to my ever growing list of must haves lol.

I had a lovely box of goodies delivered from Sarah over at Sarah's Cards, it was the March kit which I have absolutely fallen in love with. The kit features October Afternoon Modern Homemaker papers which are lovely. These are two of my favourites, I just love the pink ledger paper!

Rebecca has wanted to start making cupcakes for ages, she had a recipe book and some silicone cases for Christmas so today she decided to have a go. Being very sad I made her get dressed in clothes that would coordinate with the Modern Homemaker paper range!

Sweetness

It has been so nice to have lots of time over the last week to get up in my craft room and scrap, having my shoulder done has made me take a step back from my usual routine and slow down which has been a really refreshing change. If I was pain free it would be perfect lol!!
Anyway I finished off another page yesterday using those gorgeous Pink Paislee Sweetness papers, I have really enjoyed using them. Being able to cut out so many designs is always a plus for me, to create this page the only extra embellishments I have used is a Zva swirl, some adhesive gems and a length of lace.

When I started scrapping I would always use a piece of cardstock as my background paper but over the years I have totally gone off using cardstock of any sort unless it is white bazzill or kraft paper so I surprised myself when Iactually liked the green bazzill on this page! It was the perfect paper to create the leaves from too.
One of my favourite embellishments at the moment are Zva Creations products especially their pearl and bling swirls, they are so easy to use and I think they can add so much to your page. DH is taking me for a little visit to Craft Obsessions on Thursday so I am really hoping to stock up on my bling and pearl supplies! Craft Obsessions isn't a bricks and mortar shop but David and Brenda (the owners) have very kindly agreed to let me go and have a look around their stock room and I can't wait! DH is going to have his work cut out moving boxes and carrying stash! I will let you know what I end up buying.

Finally Some Scrapping!

I am finally able to share some scrapping with you!  Sarah sent me these gorgeous Pink Paislee Sweetness papers to work with for the shop blog, I had been looking at them for ages but not taken the plunge and bought them. I have to say in real life they are even more gorgeous and so lovely to work with. I love papers which have designs that can be cut out and used to embellish a page.

I created this page as a class for the shop blog, all the details can be found here. I know I have scrapped this photo before but it worked so well with the papers and I really like it so it got scrapped again!

The January Sarah's cards kit has started to arrive at the subscribers so I can share with you what I did with it. The kit was full of gorgeous Fancy Pants Happy Together papers, with some fab coordinating embellishments.

To create this page I added a Prima branch and its packaging and the page of an old book, the photo is of my Grandpa and my Great Aunt Emily.

This page involved lots of hand cutting but I think it was worth it. To create the border around the kraft circle I punched a strip using a Martha Stewart punch and then cut it into small sections and stuck them around the circle.

My final page, I love this photo of the four of us pillow fighting!
My shoulder is getting there slowly although it has been a slower process than I had thought, I guess I am not that patient a patient!! They do say that nurses make the worst patients and I think they are right lol. Thank fully I am managing to do more things but it is frustrating having to keep asking for help and sleeping at night is still a problem. The one saving grace is that I am able to scrap I just have to stand up to do it!

Front Cover

I have been designing for Scrapbook Magazine for a while now but had never had a page that I had created used for the front cover.....until now! I was so chuffed when I got my sub copy last week, I didn't realise at first as the photo I had used was one that had been supplied by the magazine, it was only as I was flicking through that the penny dropped.

Thank you for all your good wishes with regard to my shoulder, I finally managed to do a bit of scrapping at the end of the week (although I suffered for it afterwards!). It was so lovely to get back into my little haven and start playing with paper again, I have really really missed it. I have got a few projects on the go so fingers crossed I will be able to get in there again this week!

First CHA sneak!

I have just been looking on line to see if I could find any sneak peeks of what is going to be revealed at winter CHA 2011, there aren't many out there yet but I did find this on the Prima blog, there are some gorgeous example layouts on show over there too.

I was a bit disappointed with their summer releases, I thought they were a bit too cutsie but it looks like they may well be back on top form this time around! I can't wait to see more.

Blog Give Away!

Well the operation on my shoulder is all done, I have never had a general before so that was an interesting experience although I have to say I never gave a thought to how long it seems to affect how you feel afterwards! I am being a good patient though and started my exercises today, I have got my first physio appointment next Tuesday, fingers crossed I can get back to scrapping soon.
On a scrapping note have you seen the blog give away over at Sarah's Cards? Sarah is giving away a full set of the new October Afternoon camp fire paper plus lots of other goodies! All the details are here if you fancy having a go at winning them.

Sneak Peek

The first day of a brand new year, I can't believe how quickly 2010 went! We have had a lovely Christmas and thankfully all the snow has now gone although it did mean that my op was cancelled for the 21st December which was a bit of a pain. I am now booked in for Tuesday but I am not taking anything as definite until I am actually there!!
I don't have any scrapping to show but I thought I would share a few sneak peeks of what I created with the January Sarah's Cards kit, it was definitely right up my street and I really enjoyed playing with it. If you are looking to subscribe to a kit for the new year then why not have a look here, there is no tie in period and subscriptions start from just £19.95.
OK so here is a photo of the loveliness that is January's kit, the paper range featured this month is Fancy Pants Happy Together.
I really loved the muted tones in this kit, here is a few little sneaks of what I did with it.
