Sketch Challange

Over on Sarahs Cards shop blog we have started to set a monthly sketch challange, I don't usually like followingn sketches but it was actually really enjoyable to be able to put together a page and have the basic design done for you!

I decided to use some more of the Fancy Pants Little Dancer papers and a photo of my sister and I that was taken a few years ago.

GoGo challange

The GoGo Getaway is getting very close now, only two and a half weeks to go! Lorraine and Janice have set up a forum where we can chat to all our fellow gogoers and we have been put into teams, I am in the Zircons! I know it sounds like something out of star trek, I am sure it is a trekie convention in disquise really. All the girls I have chatted to sound lovely and I am really pleased to be in the same team as Angie and Chloe both of whom I have met before.
We have been set some challanges over the last couple of weeks, Nicola set one to do a layout with the title beginning with the letter "Z". I also set myself a mini challange to put my effort together in under an hour, a layout usually takes me over a day to put together and sometimes I think that I over think things. So here is my double challange layout all put together in under an hour!

The photo is of my nephew Josh in 2003, we took him up to see Grandma Great and he happily sunggled into Rebecca and fell asleep curled up in her lap, he looked so cute.

Layouts to Share.

I am not a fan of K and Co but a while ago I bought a pack of their die cut shapes, there was loads in the bag and they are lovely vintage pictures. I thought they would be perfect on this page of me and my first little trike. I stitched the butterfly trails using embroidery thread and bent their wings up slightly.

There have been so many new releases from CHA but if you have got little girls this one from Fancy Pants, Little Dancer, has got to be perfect! I love the little journal notebook and the buttons are just gorgeous, I bought it all from Sarahs Cards.

The sticker sheet has got some lovely stickers on but they are made of very thin paper, to make them more substantials I stuck the sticker onto some cardstock and then cut them out. I added them onto the page raising them up using foam pads.

Just looking at these two layouts together I can't get over how similar they are! Made a couple of months apart too.

Loving Vintage!!

I think I am going through a vintage stage with my scrapping at the moment, I really enjoyed putting this layout together. I wanted the blue frame to pop off the page so I cut it out of the pink background paper and then traced around it on the darker turquoise paper. I cut it out about a cm from the traced line leaving myself room to distress the edges. I covered the hole in the pink paper by sticking a piece of paper over the back. I distressed the edges of the dark turquoise paper and stuck it onto the page and then stuck the blue frame on top of that using foam pads.
To make the flower I cut out five circles of increasing size, distressed the edges using an emery board and then screwed each piece of paper up tightly. Then unfold each circle and flatten them out slightly, layer them up and fix a brad through the centre.
