I did it!!

I have done it!! I have managed to create a layout with NO butterflies, NO distressing and I didn't place the photo on the left hand side on a angle!! I am actually really impressed with myself and I didn't break out into too many cold sweats doing it.
I bought these fab Cosmo material girl papers from Sarahs Cards a few weeks ago when they landed in the shop with this photo in mind. Rebecca really wanted a sewing machine for Christmas in 2008 so my parents bought her one, she was determined to have a go at making her own clothes. Mum gave her a lesson using a pattern that Rebecca had bought but it was really a bit too complicated for her and she got fed up. I did manage to get a few photos of the lesson though!

I love utilising the paper that I am using to create added interest on my pages rather than using bought embellishments. I just love the paper with all the tape measurers on so decided to make a bit of a feature of it by pleating it around the circle and stapling it on, so easy to do and yet I think it looks quite effective.

I can see that ribbling is going to be my new craze, I think I must lead a very sheltered scapping life as I had never heard of ribbling before the retreat last weekend. Lou's class kit came with a ribbler and I just love it, it adds a really great effect to the page. I think another favourite is going to be these little thickers, they are called delight and come in some gorgeous colours and being a bit smaller are much easier to use.

A bit of non scrapping stuff, I don't think our eldery cat is very photogenic, I have tried for years to get a good photo of him and just never seem to succeed......until this week! He was asleep at the top of the stairs so I quickly grabbed my camera and atttached my zoom lens and managed to snap this which I was really pleased with.

Rebecca has been trying to decide for weeks now wether she should have a fringe cut into her hair or not, she finally took the plunge on Wednesday night and although I wasn't too keen I actually think it looks lovely and she made the right choice....what do us Mums know eh!

Thank you to everyone who has left comments on my blog I do appreciate them.

Love that LO! I can't believe how grown-up Rebecca is looking. It seems no time at all from a 'young girl' in your layouts to a 'young lady'. Scary to think how quickly she (like my DD) is moving from a child to a 'real person' She looks gorgeous!

At least you are aware of your usual style and are prepared to step out of your comfort zone. Two things I find hard. The resulting layout is great.
Like everyone else, I especially like the pleated paper.
And the fringe is 'on trend' as they say, drawing attention to her lovely eyes. She looks great too!

Love the layout. Bought these papers at retreat and intend to make mini book to record sewing projects. Rebecca looks so grown up and new haircut really suits her. Hope she's still using sewing machine. x
