Sarahs Cards February Kit.

I was given the February kit to play with this month which is full of gorgeous pink paislee papers, blooms, ribbon, bling and so much more! The colours are just yummy, there is a full kit image and list of contents over at the shop. Here is a little preview of one of the layouts that I created.

I have been tagged!!

I was tagged yesterday by Sarah, I have never been tagged before so I was intrigued! Basically I have to go to my photos and choose the 6th folder and then find the 6th photo in that folder and post it. This is my photo, it is my nephew Josh a few years ago playing at our house.

Now I have to tag five other people, I am not sure how to do this but I will have a go!!

New Toy

Well I was treated at the weekend by my lovely husband to a new toy......a new camera!! I had bought my old one on holiday in Florida two years ago and whilst it still took good photos there were a few things that niggled. I also bought a wrap around case, the shop assistant was horrified when I told her that I often put my camera in my back pocket when we go for walks on the island, it is really clever and you fix it onto the tripod hole at the base of the camera. I haven't been out anywhere really good to use it yet but spent a good couple of hours on Saturday night photographing anything that moved. It is great as it has a 7x optical zoom compared to the 3x of my old camera, the colours are great too much more life like.

My new toy!

I am off to the scrapaholics retreat on Friday which I am really excited about, I have only ever been to one retreat before. I have started to pack my new tote, only trouble is I want to take everything!! Justin is off to China on a week tomorrow for two weeks, it will be really strange him not being around and I am going to really miss him.

I did a LO today using some papers that have been sat in my paper storage for ages, Crate paper Katlin. They are gorgeous, girlie colours and I found the perfect photo of Rebecca striping wallpaper in her bedroom. I have decided that I am going to have to try and find some non pink girlie papers, so many of the LOs in my gallery are pink!

Back to work tomorrow, I am in charge for the next three weeks as the sister is off to the Dominican Republic, very nice! Fingers crossed everything will run smoothly.

I have been extrememly busy scrapping away over the last week which has been great. I have tried to be organised with what I have been doing and finishing one "job" before I start the next. It has worked and it meant that I didn't have to clear anything away inbetween, a great excuse for a messy scrap room!! I have finished all my projects using the February gogo kit, I managed four layouts and a card all that I have to do now is write some information about me. I find that the hardest part, maybe I could create myself an imaginery life full of adventure and mystery!

I recieved Sarahs Cards February kit as well on Saturday and it is just gorgeous, definitley paper right up my street! If you like pink paislee you will love this kit. I usually spend half my scrapping time looking at my photos on the computer trying to decide what would go, I decided this wasn't good time management so on Sunday I went through a lot of my folders and choose a whole load of photos that I thought I would like to scrap and had them all developed in town. I have to say it was a great idea as scrapping has become so much quicker as choosing the right photos is so quick. Why didn't I do this earlier!!

I did another 8.5x11 layout, I have decided to make an album of all my old childhood photos as most of them are quite small (smaller than a 4x6) so are perfect for that size. I did this one of me as a child with the most embarrassing haircut!

I have used daisy bucket papers again, I am just loving the polka dots at the moment!!

Still on the subject of photos, do you often look at your photos and think that you can't use them as they aren't "perfect"? I often do, when I was looking for photos to go with some paper that Sarah had sent me I found the right photos colour wise of Rebecca but they weren't that great as Rebecca was pulling faces or moving. Then I decided that although they weren't great shots they summed her up so actually they were perfect so used them all on the layout!

Oh forgot to say my lovely Mimi wheeled tote arrived on Saturday as well, it is gorgeous but I am not sure how I am going to organise all my stash in it for the 30th! I will have to prioritise what I want to take....difficult one!

I have been very busy over the last few days creating for Sarahs cards, I did get interrupted by a sickness bug which stopped play for a bit!! I have managed to do a few different projects as well as some 12x12 layouts which was good fun, I can't show you yet cus they are still a secret lol!

Since I have started scrapbooking I have only ever done 12x12 layouts, a fellow member of Sarahs DT, Gems, has done some amazing layouts on 8.5x11 and seeing her most recent layout on Sarahs blog inspired me to give it a go. I have to say I absolutely love the result and the page looks so cute and tichy. I am definitely going to do some more. I have had this photo of my little sister for ages and it worked so well on this size page as it doesn't get lost. All I need to do now is to buy an album!

I was very naughty earlier on in the week and ordered a Mimi large wheeled tote, I am really hoping to have it before I go to the scrapaholics retreat at the end of January but I read on UKS that some of them are taking up to 5 weeks for delivery. I am going to have to chase it up on Monday, fingers crossed I will get mine otherwise it will be pizza boxs galore packed with everything that I want to take with me!

Do you ever get days when everything seems to go wrong? I do, frequently, lol! However today was not one of those days!!
Sarah over at Sarahs cards has revamped the shop blog and I feel very privalaged to be the first of the new design team members to have one of their layouts showcased on there. Sarah sent me some gorgeous papers and embellshments all available in her online shop, the range that I had to use were American crafts teen range and they are just gorgeous!! Here is the first layout that I have created using them. I just love all the bright colours and paper designs, perfect for my girls.

Rebecca seems to think that she needs to straighten her already pretty straight hair, I keep trying to tell her that her hair is beautiful as it is, bless her. So much pressure for an 11 year old!! ( I hasten to add she is only allowed to straighten it as a special treat!

Back before Christmas I was asked if I had a layout that I would like to submit to scrapbook inspirtations to feature in My Favourite Page, I put together this layout which I am really pleased with. I used october afternoon papers which I just adore. I also submitted a layout for the readers gallery. This morning an issue of Scrapbook Inspirations dropped onto the mat, I had totally forgotten that I was due to appear in the next issue so I was really pleased to see my layouts. It is such a buzz to see your work in print, and as I am a bit of a family history nutter I keep thinking of my future generations who might find old copies of this mag in the future. I would have loved to have found something like this when I was doing all my geneology research.

The third piece of good news for me today (sorry to bore you) is that I have been asked to be a guest designer for a month for Scrapagogo! I am going to be showcasing the February kit and I should have it within the next fews days to start work on.
I am going on the scrapaholics retreat at the end of January which I am really excited about, my first and only retreat was over a year ago and that was the scrapstudio one. Not long after the shop and kits finished which was a real shame. I have splashed out on a gorgeous Mimi large tote to try and carry all my stash, I seem to have acquired quite a bit more since my last retreat!! I just can't wait to get together with some like minded people (two of whom I am on the same team with on UKScrappers) and spend the whole weekend scrapping! What bliss. I think I need to try and find some more photo ops before then to have a good variety of photos.

Happy New Year

Well Christmas has come and gone for another year, we have had a really lovely time. On Christmas Eve my parents came over with my nephew and my brother, we played silly games which we all love. On Christmas day we spent the morning at home and then went to my sister in laws for lunch and the afternoon before going to see Justins Grandpa in the evening with all the kids. Boxing day we spent with my parents, sister, her partner and nephew, again playing games and just having fun together as a family. I have to say that Justin thoroughly spoilt me this year with lots of gorgeous presents, two of them being a lovely Tiffany bangle and a troll bracelet! I was shocked and stunned to say the least, he must love me!

Both the girls were really pleased with their new phones, Emily spent most of the day fiddling around with hers, she loves the touch screen.

Rebecca was desperate for a troll bracelet for Christmas too, so we started her off with the bracelet and a bead, she has worn it everyday since.

My Troll bracelet, I have to admit that I have added to it since Christmas. We have got a shop in Weymouth that sells a huge collection of both Troll and Pandora beads so it is financial suicide everytime I go to town!! Rebecca gave me the green bead on the end, she bought it with her pocket money as a thank you for doing the house work as I had been having a bit of a moan bless her.

I can now tell you my top secret news as well, I was asked to join Sarahs Cards design team! I was so so chuffed to have been asked, sadly it has meant that I have had to leave Scrummy Stash Cafe but I am so excited about the new challange. I recieved my first box of DT stash just bbefore Christmas and I have to say that I was very impressed, Sarah and Lianne had obvioulsy put a lot of thought into what papers went to which DT member. I am working on my third layout at the moment, I am really excited to be able to share them!

The last two weeks have gone so quickley, the kids go back to school tomorrow and Justin goes back to work, it has been really lovely just spending time together as a family.
