A few years ago I saw a layout where the scrappers child had answered a series of questions on the page, I loved the idea and have tried to do one each year for both the girls. They are great to look back on, Emily and I had all the scrapbooks out last night and had a good giggle at some of her previous answers.
I wanted Emily's layout to look a bit like a page from a personnel file so I kept it very simple without too many layers or fancy embellishments. On Sarah's Cards design team we have got an amazing scrapper Lou, she manages to use paints and mists on her pages in the most creative ways. I struggle to do anything messy or irreversible on my pages but she has inspired me to try and be a bit more adventurous so I stamped some circles on the page using brown acrylic paint. I have used MME fine and dandy papers for Emily's page.
I know there are a few spelling mistakes on the page but that is part of the charm of getting them to do their own journaling.
I was going to do Rebecca's page pretty much the same as Emily's but it didn't turn out quite as I had intended! I used a combination of MME papers for this page, fine and dandy along with stella and rose. They work really well together and I love the small floral print paper, it is exactly the sort of print that Rebecca loves so perfect for a page about her. I did keep the page quite simple with only a few embellishments but created a pull out tag for the questions and her answers.

I love this idea. I too got my friends and sisters to fill in profiles growing up and I love to look back at them. Its great that she's so proud of her hair colour as lots of kids get teased, how nice to be able to say she wouldn't change a thing about herself!
I love the etheral quality of the second layout too.
i've always loved how you do these and should really give it a go...they are great to look back on. beuatiful layouts and i like how they are both so different xx
These are great, I am so going to do this for all of Benjamin's birthdays!
Isn't that just so lovely! Wish I had been a scrapbooker when my girls were that age! Wonderful heritage LOs Rachael. Jill x
I did this with my kids in 2008 then the dreaded PND set in and I forgot about it thanks for reminding me to start it again :)
Love your pages as always Rachel your girls are such stunners I feel sorry for their dad having to run off all the young men lol.
You've just reminded me it's about time I did this with my two again! Haven't done it since about 2007 - oops! Love the two pages. Especially love the look of the personnel file page :)
Gorgeous Rach! I did this with my niece a couple of months back! SUch cute answers - I must scrap it soon, she even "wrote" all over my paper so I should include that too :) Thanks for the reminder! xxx
Gorgeous pages Rachael.Love the idea of this I think I'll start some with my little people.
Think this is such a good idea - think I will have to give this a go
Love how you've used the same idea to make two very different (but equally stunning) layouts... and you're so right about how the little mistakes just add to the page.
They are really lovely layouts - and a great idea too.
I might have to "steal" that questions layout idea...i love reading what my eldest son writes. At 8 he has very neat writing but awful spelling so think it would be fab think to look back on!
