I was pointed in the direction of the Lets Get Shabby blog by the very talanted alteredgeisha over on UKS. There are some amazing layouts over there and they set a monthly challange, this month it was to use something vintage either a photo or embellisment so I thought I would try entering my page Adore.

Lots of Scrapping Time!!
Last week was so busy working 4 days I didn't get much time to scrap at all, I don't know how anyone can work full time, look after a house and kids etc and still have time to scrap!
Emily has always hated her hair even though it is absolutely gorgeous, the hair dresser came yesterday and between us we managed to persuade her to wear her hair down. She usually always wears it scrapped back in pony tail as she has a real thing about it being "frizzy". She let her friend dry it for her and pinned up her fringe, she looked so beautiful so I just had to take a quick photo when she came home.
I have been so busy with scrapping projects that my kits from Scrapagogo have been building up totally untouched. I think this is one of my favourite kits that I have had from there, it is the June kit and full of gorgeous papers including MME and My Little Shoe Box which are both ranges that I love.
I took this photo of the girls on our weekend away at Saunton Sands and loved the fact that they were working together playing battleships against their Grandpa and cousin and they weren't arguing!!!!!
This layout was a bit of an experiment, I bought some glimmer mists a few months ago but hadn't even tried them out. I took the plunge on this page and really like the effect, trouble is now I HAVE to buy some more colours and some masks!

I forgot that I had these photos, I have only just downloaded them from my camera, Rebecca and I went to watch the red arrows on carnival day. We couldn't be bothered to go all the way over to Weymouth so we went up to a viewing point on the cliffs and had a really gorgeous view over Weymouth bay and the fleet. The red arrows were amazing as always!

I also wanted to have a go at distressing the papers more, I love the vintage look that so many scrappers manage to achieve. I wet the areas that I wanted to distress and screwed them up, flattened them out a bit and let them dry before inking over it. I was really pleased with the effect. I also did the same with the flower, I made these types of flowers before but never wet the paper before I have screwed the circles.
The butterflies are chipboard coloured in using AC metallic marker and then coated in glossy accents.

Sarahs Cards kit was posted out on the 20th so I can now reveal two of the layouts that I designed with the kit! I love this cosmo range and with the borders and elements sheet there is so much wording that can be cut out to create your titles and journaling.
This photo is of Emily and her cousin Big Josh (I have another nephew called Josh but he is a lot younger so little Josh!) They were often mistaken for siblings as they both had red hair.
This photo of my Dad and I has been in my scrapping pile for ages but I had never found the right papers....until now! My Mum was very handy with a sewing machine when we were growing up making almost all of our clothes and that includes this swimming costume I am modeling. Very clever but I have to say some of our clothes were very dodgy!

3 Little Monkies
I did this layout as part of my article on using up your leftovers, I loved this photo of Rebecca she soooooo loved the little squirrel monkies. The sun shinning through the cage cast a funny shadow on her face but I love the excited look in her eyes and those little monkies were so so cute!
I think this has got to be one of my favourite paper ranges of late, Crate Paper Lillian and I seem to have used it on lots of my pages!

Saunton Sands
Thought I would share some photos from our weekend at Saunton Sands, we had an amazing weekend despite it being a bit cold and windy!! We had gone there last year to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary and my Mums 60th birthday.
We got there on Friday afternoon and went straight down onto the beach, it was very windy but the girls loved it. The new baywatch babes, just need the Hoff now lol.
On Saturday we went back down onto the beach and Emily found little Benny the Blenni (Benni wasn't harmed in the taking of this photo!!)

In our compliments box in our rooms was the most yummy hot chocolate, my morning routine was to make a cuppa and then sit and watch the surfers out of our window. Rebecca thought it was a good idea so joined it too!

Why is it that one of the girls always manages to either close their eyes or not smile on a photo that would have otherwise been lovely!!
On Sunday went to Crealy, in the animal corner they had the most adorable puppies which were for sale, Emily fell in love instantly with this littl fella. He kept coming over to see her and nibbling her fingers. As you can imagine all the way home we were nagged about buying him......the answer was NO!

Dream
I really loved this photo of Emily that I took on a day out in April to Portland Castle, she doesn't often let me take her photo now so photos that I can use for scrapping are few and far between at the moment! I have even resorted to bribing her with extra pocket money to let me take some photos, that is what you call desperate measures!!

Do you want another peek?
Some of the girls over on Sarahs Cards blog wanted more peeks of the September kit so I have bowed to pressure and popped on another one! Hope you like it :)
