Click Click

I am totally in love with this paper range, October Afternoon Fly A Kite, I have created so many pages with it already and as quickly as I have been using it I have ordered more!
I wanted to create a page that resembled a flower in shape but I didn't want to use a die cut sheet of paper as I wanted to be able to add extra "petals" around the edge. All I did was cut out a large circle and then punched out lots of circle, inked the edges and cut them in half and stuck them in two layers around the edge of the circle. I stitched around the edge but it is more for show than sewing anything into place!
This flower was really simple to make, I pulled the cotton from the ends of a cotton bud and trimmed the little blue stick so that it was the length I wanted. I then cut a piece of paper that was longer than the stick and used some really strong double sided tape all over the back of it. I covered the stick with the paper squashing down both the ends which overlapped the stick. For the flower pot I just hand cut a pot shape and stuck one of the squashed paper ends of the stick to it then attached it to the page using foam pads to add extra dimension. I used punched to create the flower and hand cut some leaf shapes.

I loved this page Rachael! My hubby saw it on the cover of SBM and said 'ohhh, you made front cover this time...!'
I was flattered that he thought I could make a page this beautiful but really? He should pay more attention to the pages I make! And who did he think the girl in the photo would have been? I had to laugh! X
